In March, All Clear Translations and other area companies were invited to a Canada Showcase and Networking event by the Consulate General of Canada, Margaret Lange. Have you thought about your Canadian market? Our #1 export partner is Canada. Here are some facts for you:
Canada’s banking system is the soundest in the World.
Canada has the 2nd fastest economic growth in the G-7
Canada offers the lowest overall business costs in the G-7

Canadian representatives from Winnipeg & Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Quebec were here to talk about partnership with Canadian companies to help grow imports and exports. I was impressed with the aerospace, advanced manufacturing, life sciences and automotive industries where innovation and technology are driving Canada’s growth as a world leader in R & D!

One product U.S. businesses import is Hemp. Canadian farmers supply the U.S. with Hemp. Hemp's agronomic and environment attributes are remarkable: it can be grown without fungicides, herbicides and pesticides, it absorbs carbon dioxide five times more efficiently than the same acreage of forest and it matures in three to four months. Hemp can be used to create building materials, textiles, clothing, inks, and paints and has potential use in other non-food products. These advantages are in tune with the environmental and health preferences of today's North American public. The growing curiosity of consumers, the interest shown by farmers and processors, and Canada's excellent growing conditions for industrial hemp allow optimistic views for its future.

The combined retail value of hemp food and body care products sold in the United States in 2010 was $40.5 million, up more than 10 percent from 2009, according to the market research firm SPINS. (The same firm estimated that 2009 sales of hemp products reached $36.6 million.) The Hemp Industries Association (HIA) estimated that the retail value of North American hemp food, vitamin and body care products was in the range of $121 to $142 million in 2010. When clothing, auto parts, building materials and other non-food or body care products are included, the HIA estimates that the total retail value of U.S. hemp products is about $419 million. More information on Hemp is available online www.agmrc.org
